Artist Statement

My career as a potter has allowed me to:


Elementary: Westchester County Public Schools; Catholic School, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.

Secondary: Catholic School in St Thomas, St. Mary’s Hall in San Antonio, TX.

Post-Secondary: Graduated from Adelphi University, 1963., B.A. English Literature.  

  Studied French and French culture in Paris, 1964-65 (Jacques born 1964).

  Apprenticed, taught English at Buckingham School, Cambridge, MA 1966-7.

  Business Policy Course Assistant, Harvard Business School, 1967-69.

  Studied Spanish and Spanish culture in Barcelona, Spain, 1969-70 (Jess born 1970).

Ceramics Studies / Responsibilities:

Studied with Gary Goodridge at League of NH Craftsman program in Exeter, 1971.

Managed clay studio at Phillips Exeter Academy 1971-75; studied with Brian  Dewberry (on exchange to UNH from London) 1972.

Phoenix Workshops Master Class with Gerry Williams 1983.  

Haystack Craft School assistant in ceramics 1984, 1986.

Coordinator of Studio Potter Network,. Editor, SP Network Newsletter, 1987-1994.

Full-time studio work and clay education, 1994-present.
